Telangana Government Doctors Warn of Indefinite Stir for Arrears
On Wednesday, protests by government doctors from several groups were conducted in the city to put pressure on the state government to quickly refund outstanding arrears, general transfers, allowances, and other concerns. A demonstration was staged here at the director of medical education's office by members of the telangana Teaching government Doctors Association (TTGDA). About 200 doctors from 26 districts joined the protesters in expressing their support for their "justified" requests.
Vice-President of TTGDA Dr. kiran Madhala stated to india Herald, "We want the government to pay out PRC arrears that have been outstanding for the past seven years. More than eight months have passed since the file was last in the CMO. Additionally, we want the administration to finalize the general transfers that have been on hold for more than five years. Without the chance to transfer to another hospital, many doctors have been employed in the same district for three to four years.
A revision of GO Ms No. 56, which forbade private practices, better infrastructure facilities, and payment of fixation for doctors transferred from telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) and district hospitals to the DME was also asked.
