Telangana Kakatiya Medical College - Seven MBBS students booked for 'Ragging' and Assaulting Junior
This is the second such instance to occur in the state in the past month, following the suspension of 10 students for engaging in juniors ragging by the gandhi Medical college in Hyderabad. N Venkathewerlu, an inspector of the Mattewada police, reported on monday that the students implicated in the ragging had received notices.
He claimed that the seniors had asked the second-year student, a resident of Rajasthan, to bring water. They allegedly beat him after he refused. The senior citizens allegedly beat him up in his room, the police official claimed. According to the police, the seven KMC students were charged for violating the relevant IPC sections as well as the Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997. When contacted by PTI, KMC Principal Dr. Divvela Mohandas stated that the college's anti-ragging committee will meet on tuesday and that the conclusion of the meeting will determine the next step.
