By successfully conducting 100 kidney transplants in just 8 months this year, the transplant surgeons at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) previously set a record. Through the government-run Aarogyasri health Insurance programme, all 100 kidney transplants—of which 61 were performed on live relatives and 39 on deceased donors—were performed without charge for patients in need.
