If manholes are opened on city roadways, the hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has threatened harsh punishment. More than 22,000 manholes in the city have safety grills covering them as a precaution, and those on the main highways have been sealed and painted red to denote danger. For each location, a crew led by a sewage inspector has been established to periodically check the manholes.

These personnel will clear rainwater in collaboration with ghmc in addition to inspecting the manholes every morning. Along with deploying the vehicles for the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Monsoon Safety Team (MST), and Safety Protocol Team (SPT), protective gear has also been given to the field employees.

These trucks, which include a dewatering motor and generator, will primarily focus on draining rainfall from flooded urban areas. Air-tech devices are also made accessible in addition to this. Residents can call HMWSSB at 155313 if they notice any broken or open manhole covers. Taking precautions, the authorities installed safety grills over more than 22,000 manholes in the city and those on the main roads have been sealed and marked red to indicate danger. Stay tuned.
