BJP had to bear the brunt of not fielding Mayawati’s candidate?
The result of the by-election held on Ghosi assembly Seat in Uttar Pradesh has come. Samajwadi party (SP)
candidate sudhakar Singh has defeated BJP’s dara singh Chauhan. After the announcement of by-election on this
seat, bjp and SP had announced their candidates. Whereas congress and Bahujan Samaj party did not field any
candidates. With SP being in the india alliance, it was clear that their candidate would get the support of Congress.
Whereas BSP is neither in nda nor india alliance. In such a situation, the party did not support any candidate.
Because of this, everyone's eyes were fixed on the vote bank of BSP. It was already believed that its BSP voters
could change the electoral mathematics. SP and bjp, which were contesting elections through caste equation, had
their eyes on BSP cadre Dalit voters.
BSP had played this political trick
In the direct fight between SP and bjp candidates, castes were also seen divided into two factions. There were
indications that the inclination of Dalit voters, which is said to be the sole BSP cadre vote, would decide a lot.
Since there was no BSP candidate in this by-election, it was believed that wherever its voters went, it would have
the upper hand. Before voting in the by-election, BSP had made a big political move that the BSP would either sit
at home or if they go to the booth, they would press NOTA.
This decision of BSP created a different situation in the by-election of Ghosi because this seat has more number of
Dalit voters who had the power to influence the elections. The party said that our entire team is busy preparing for
the upcoming lok sabha elections. BSP people will not participate in this by-election. Because this election is
being conducted by luring MLAs and the burden of which is falling on the public, hence BSP opposes it.
