There can be talks regarding Tejas weapon..Let’s know..?
In the month of february 2023 itself, India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited informed that 4 countries want to
buy fighter aircraft tejas from india and that country is also contacting india in this regard. The names of these
countries included Argentina, egypt and botswana along with ASEAN country Malaysia. However, this deal
could not be done at that time. According to the information received, in this ASEAN summit, india has set a
target of $6 billion for defense exports to build good relations with ASEAN countries. HAL is now in talks to
sell tejas to the Philippines. india has also opened HAL office in Malaysia.

The full name of ASEAN is Association of Southeast Asian Nations. It is an organization of South-East Asian
countries. This organization was formed in 1967. When this organization was formed, five countries were its
members. These five countries are Malaysia, indonesia, Philippines, singapore and Thailand. After the Cold
War in the year 1990, five more new countries were included in this organization. These five countries were
Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei, laos and Myanmar.
What is the purpose of ASEAN Summit?
The current chair of ASEAN is indonesia and there are two important meetings of this summit. It will be held a
few days before india hosts the G20 summit in New delhi during september 9-10. Explain that there are ten
member countries in the ASEAN group – Brunei, Cambodia, indonesia, laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines,
singapore, thailand and Vietnam. india is not a member of this group yet.
