Telangana FM asks officials to speed up crop loan waiver disbursal
Harish Rao, who presided over a high-level meeting with bank representatives here at the secretariat regarding the delay in the disbursement of crop loan waiver funds, reaffirmed the State government's commitment to seeing to it that the entire loan waiver amount was deposited into each farmer's bank account. telangana is the only State to reach this milestone, he claimed, and chief minister KCR is the only leader in the nation to have done it twice with success.
According to the minister, 18.79 lakh farmers received loan waivers of up to Rs. 9,654 crore. From this, the loan waiver amount has already been deposited into the bank accounts of almost 17.15 lakh beneficiaries. However, due to technological issues, 1.66 lakh farmers have yet to get the money.
To solve these problems, banks have been instructed to use Aadhaar numbers to identify Rythu Bandhu accounts and provide loan waiver cash to the approximately one lakh delayed beneficiaries. Additionally, they were told to gather the bank accounts of roughly 50,000 farmers and contact NPCI for assistance. The Finance department will immediately release payments into the bank accounts of these farmers within three days of obtaining this information from the banks.
Additionally, under the supervision of the district Collectors and district Agriculture Officers, the government representatives have been instructed to visit the remaining 16,000 farmers and get their contact information. The crop loan waiver amount will be paid out based on their reports.
