Ignoring CM Mann’s warning, Patwari on strike again

Patwaris in punjab have gone on strike again today. The punjab government had imposed Essential Services

Management Act (ESMA) on the protesting Patwaris on august 30. But now the Patwari and the government

of the state seem to be at loggerheads. In fact, the Revenue Patwar Union, sticking to the announcement of

strike in 3193 circles, has decided to start the investigation again today. At the same time, bhagwant mann has

announced to challenge the ESMA law implemented by the government in the High Court.

Government should implement the demands of Patwaris

Patwari Union President Harveer Singh Dhindsa and Kanungo Union punjab President Mohan Singh Bhedpura

say that the punjab government has not been implementing the demands of Patwaris for a long time. He said

that newly recruited Patwaris should be given basic salary instead of Rs 5000. Along with this, the salary gap

of Patwaris should also be eliminated by making the training period one year.

Government will be challenged in the High Court

Regarding the ESMA imposed by the punjab government, Patwari union leaders say that the government's

decision to implement ESMA will be challenged in the High Court. Once again, Patwari and Kanungo in 3193

circles will start strike from friday i.e. today. Leaders of Patwari Union and Kanungo Union say that they do

not support any corruption. According to the rules, investigation can be done against the patwaris. Union

leaders have also termed non-recruitment on vacant posts and imposing additional workload on them as a form

of government corruption. At the same time, he has demanded to reduce the promotion period from 7 years to

5 years.
