A standard map was issued by China’s Natural Resources Ministry on august 28 last month. In this, it has
claimed India's Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh as its share. india strongly opposed this move of China.
Similar objections were also made by Malaysia, Philippines, taiwan and Vietnam. Rajesh Kumar spoke to

Chinese Studies in JNU on this matter. Let's know the whole conversation-
The standard map issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources of china declared Aksai Chin and Arunachal
as its part of India. What do you see why china is doing this again and again?
Answer- This is the fourth time such activities are being done by China. On april 13, 2017, china changed
the names of 17 places in Arunachal Pradesh. After this, on december 31, 2021, the names of 15 places were
changed. At that time this work was done by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. In april this year, china changed
the names of 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh and this work was also done by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. On
august 28 last month, China's Ministry of Natural Resources changed some names and brought out a new
map. In this, Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin were described as part of China.
By doing this, china has started a psychological war fair against India. We know that Arunachal Pradesh is an
administrative unit of india since 1951. In such a situation, the question arises that why is china doing this
now? One, this is a psychological war fair and secondly, many such controversial issues are being raised by
china so that whenever the data-border dispute is discussed, it will remain a point and they will try to put pressure
against India. It will try to make india take a defensive stand.
The third thing is that the map was changed from the Ministry of Civil Affairs to the Ministry of Natural
Resources, because china wants the resources in Arunachal, there are a lot of minerals, fisheries, and water
resources, they are trying to capture them. One of their objectives is also to put a lot of pressure on India
regarding resources. The fourth reason could be that mega events like G-20 are coming, so by raising such
disputes, china feels that india will give some concession, because mega events are also very important for
India. In such a situation, their effort is to put pressure on India.
