ISRO President S. somnath visiting temples after Chandrayaan-3 vikram lander successfully landed on the moon. Last sunday, he visited the Poornamikavu Bhadrakali temple in Ruvananthapuram and his words went viral. indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chief S somnath visited the Pournamikavu Bhadrakali temple in Thiruvananthapuram, kerala last sunday after the Chandrayaan-3 project's vikram lander successfully soft-landed on the moon. Speaking to the media, he said that science and spirituality are two different fields and there is no need to mix them together. Ahead of the launch of chandrayaan 3 on July 13, S. somnath performed a puja for the project's success at the Sri Chengalamma temple in Tirupati. It has been debated whether Somnath's spiritual beliefs undermined his inclination towards science.

Speaking very clearly about this, the isro chief clarified that there is no inherent conflict between the two elements. "I am an explorer. I also explore the moon. I also explore my soul. Exploring both science and spirituality is a part of my life. So I visit many temples and I read many scriptures. I try to find the meaning of our existence and our journey in this universe. .It is a part of culture and we are all built to explore, to discover the inner self and the outer self. So I say science for space exploration and I visit temples for inner exploration.

Responding to a question about the name 'Shiva Shakti' being chosen for the landing site of Chandrayaan-3, he said that prime minister Modi's explanation about the significance of the name is understandable to all. "The prime minister has explained its meaning in a way that suits all of us. I think there is nothing wrong with that. He has also given the name Tiranga. Both are indian sounding names. The prime minister of the country has a special power to give a good name to what we do," he said.

Earlier somnath also talked about ISRO's readiness to fulfill the visionary objectives of PM Modi saying "India has the capability to travel to moon, mars and venus but we need to increase our confidence. We need more investment and the space sector should develop and the whole nation should develop because of that, that is our mission. We Ready to fulfill the vision given to us by prime minister Modi," he said. In a historic achievement, india soft-landed the vikram lander on the South Pole of the moon on august 23 at 6:40 PM. india has thus become the first country in the world to successfully land a spacecraft on the South Pole of the Moon. Apart from that, india is proud to be the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the lunar surdata-face after America, russia and China. Chandrayaan-3, which was launched to the moon on July 14, landed on the moon on august 23 after a 41-day journey.
