When the minister raised a question about this, the officials were unable to give an answer. When the parents of the students who are said to be staying in the hostel were called on their cell phones, they gave false information. Through this, it was exposed that 66 students had been faked as staying and cooking food after knowing the Minister's study. Subsequently, the minister was expected to write about the malpractice in a thesis at the hostel. However, minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj wrote in defense of the hostel administrators that the number of students in the hostel was low, so they talked to the parents of the students and advised them to send them to the hostel immediately and the food was fine. This action of the minister has been controversial.

Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, responding to the question of the reporters, said that appropriate action will be taken against the erring officials after conducting a proper investigation.
