Karnataka has lost ground in the Cauvery water dispute. The Cauvery Water Control Committee has instructed karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water daily to tamil Nadu for 15 days from tomorrow. karnataka has been set back in the recent dispute over Cauvery water sharing. karnataka is getting drained due to lack of rain. Meanwhile, the Cauvery Water Control Committee (CWRC) has not agreed with Karnataka's argument that it is impossible to release Cauvery water to tamil Nadu. The kaveri river Water Management Authority has instructed karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water to tamil Nadu every day for 15 days from tomorrow. This notification was given at the important meeting of CWRC held in delhi today. karnataka had argued to reduce the amount of water released to tamil Nadu to 3,000 cusecs. But the CWRC rejected this argument. Not only this, it has been suggested to release 5 thousand cusecs of water. Now the CWRC has decided to challenge the decision before the karnataka CWMA. CWMA meeting will be held in delhi on Tuesday. In this meeting, karnataka will question the decision to release 5 thousand cusecs of water every day.
The tamil Nadu supreme court will hear the petition filed by the tamil Nadu supreme court for Cauvery water. Before this, an important meeting of the Cauvery Water Control Committee was held. In this meeting, CWRC has suggested to release 5,000 cusecs of water. The Cauvery Irrigation Corporation officials from karnataka participated in this meeting held in delhi through video conference. karnataka has already released a total of 10 TMC of water to tamil Nadu in 11 days as 10 thousand cusecs daily as per the order of the Water Control Committee. But only tamil Nadu has demanded 24 thousand cusecs and has also filed an application in the supreme court in this regard.
