Coca-Cola doubles investment in Telangana by adding Rs 647 crores

Coca-Cola has agreed to invest an extra Rs 647 crore in the siddipet greenfield project, which is scheduled to be finished by december 2024. Apart from the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) factory in ameenpur, the investment would be separate. Coca-Cola representatives visited a telangana team in New York that was led by the state's industries minister, KT Rama Rao. A second greenfield manufacturing plant of comparable data-size is also planned for the karimnagar or warangal area.

With this new plant, Coca-Cola would have invested more than Rs 2500 crore in production facilities overall. india is the third-largest market for Coca-Cola in the globe, according to james McGreevy, Vice President (PPGR) of Coca-Cola in New York. Coca-Cola has ambitious intentions to expand its operations and presence in India. HCCB committed Rs 142 crore for the expansion of the ameenpur facility in 2020 as part of this development, according to the VC.

HCCB and the government of telangana signed an MoU on april 7, 2022, committing to spend Rs 1000 crore in the siddipet project. The firm has opted to increase its investments, according to executives, who noted that the company is encouraged by the backing of the telangana government and the robust growth in the area.
