In order to accommodate bus customers, the telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has planned 3,000 special buses for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan holiday throughout the State. On august 29, 30, and 31, these unique buses will conduct 1,000 services each day. In a video conference held on Saturday, TSRTC Managing director VC Sajjanar examined the arrangements and amenities being offered to the passengers. On the routes from hyderabad to Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Hanamkonda, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Godavarikhani, Manchiryal, etc., special buses have been organized based on the passenger traffic.
In high-traffic zones like Uppal, LB Nagar, Aramghar, JBS, and MGBS, special teams would be stationed. During Raksha Bandhan last year, TSRTC made Rs. 20 crore in profits in a single day. Twelve bus depots had 100% occupancy, bringing the overall occupancy rate to around 87%.
"This money was received during the celebration of Raksha Bandhan, not even in the combined andhra pradesh State. We intend to offer customised buses this year as well, based on past experience," Sajjanar added. In locations with heavy passenger traffic, officials were encouraged to collaborate with the police and transport agency.
