Condemnation for releasing water to Tamil Nadu..!?

The police arrested and released the leaders, office bearers and activists of various pro-Kannada organizations when they tried to lay siege to the dam on Saturday, condemning the state government's move to release water from the Krishnarajasagar reservoir to tamil Nadu. Leaders and office bearers of Kannadigar Rakshas Vudisha, karnataka Nava Nirman Vudisha, karnataka Rakshas Vudisha Swabhimani Bana, who had arrived from Bangalore and other pro-Kannada organizations were arrested and taken to the police station. Earlier, more than 50 leaders of pro-Kannada organizations protested at Kannambadi Dam and shouted contempt against chief minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar.


He expressed outrage that the congress government is following an anti-farmer and anti-people policy by releasing water from the KRS dam to tamil Nadu overnight. We will shed blood and save Kaveri. Pro-Kannada organization leaders, office bearers and activists who protested for more than an hour near the dam with the slogan that if the water is stopped, there will be peace, if there is no revolution, the leaders, office-bearers and workers of the organization lashed out at the people's representatives. During the protest, the Irrigation authorities should give the actual facts about the storage of water in the dam and the fact that the water has been released.


Later, when they tried to besiege the dam after having a verbal altercation with them, the police led by ASP Thimmaiah intercepted the protestors and arrested them and took them to the police station and later released them. Leaders of other pro-Kannada organizations including Kannadigar Defense Forum, karnataka Nava Nirman Forum, karnataka Defense Forum Swabhimani Bana participated in the protest.
