No ration card for Tarthu service due to server problem
Reportedly there is no ration card for Tarthu service due to server problem. The poor and middle class beneficiaries are in dire straits as they have to spend thousands of rupees for medical treatment without the voucher. The Food and Civil Supplies Department, which had suspended the distribution of ration cards and the acceptance of applications during the general elections to the state assembly, has now allowed revision and correction. But, the beneficiaries are frustrated due to the server problem.
Meanwhile as the assembly general elections were announced, the Food and Civil Supplies Department had temporarily suspended the functioning of their department's software to comply with the Model Code of Conduct. Due to this, submission of new application, issuance of new ration card, revision or correction work was also stopped. The software of the food department, which was suspended for the last 4 months, was allowed to function only from 12 am to 4 pm from august 16 to august 19.On the insistence of the public, the government has extended the time till august 21 and made provision. However, after the announcement of Grilahakshmi Yojana, correction of name in the ration card, change of photo and fair price shop, addition of new name and removal of the name already in the ration card have been allowed. Due to server problem of food and civil supplies department for urgent beneficiaries, women, old people and public are tired of waiting in queues in front of online centers for correction of ration cards. They are cursing against the senior officials of the food department.
The applications submitted for ration cards before the elections to get the Grilahakshmi Yojana, medical treatment and other schemes and facilities of the government have not been released so far. Earlier, after getting the necessary documents for medical treatment and submitting the proposal to the deputy director or joint director by the inspector of the food department for the distribution of the ration card, the district level officials approved the distribution of the ration card. However, the government has put a brake on that for the last 4 months. Now the permission is given but there is a server problem. On the one hand, when the patients are admitted to the hospital, they are demanding ration card for the facility. There is no ration card for Tarthu service due to server problem. The government had allowed only 2 days to amend the ration card. However, due to all the problems, it has been extended till august 21. Due to the server problem, 2 applications were submitted on the first day, august 18, and none on the 19th. So people are leaving their jobs. The application period should be increased. Dasharatha Badigera, the staff of the online center said that this is beneficial for the people and us.
