Telangana Hyderabad breathes easy as air pollution dips
According to data issued by the telangana State pollution Control Board, hyderabad had a considerable reduction in air pollution in the month of July. The monthly air Quality Index (AQI) results showed a notable improvement, illuminating the city's steady transition away from its formerly dirty history.
In most places, the AQI levels for July were almost cut in half when compared to the data from the first six months of the year. Even the typical pollution hotspots, such Pashamylaram, Sanathnagar, and Nehru Zoological Park, which are notorious for their regularly bad air quality, enjoyed the pleasure of clean air in July.
In July, when the AQI dropped to an astounding 36, Nehru Zoological Park, where it had previously crossed the 200-mark, suddenly found relief. With an AQI of 61 in June, which was a dramatic contrast to the oppressive air quality earlier in the year, the optimistic trajectory of improvement had already started. Not only the Nehru Zoological Park adopted this style; Pashamylaram and Bollaram also did it.
Even the city's green spaces saw a breath of change. A significant improvement in air quality was seen near the ICRISAT buildings, KBR Park, and Kukatpally. Due to the coming of monsoon rains in the final two weeks of July, areas like Sainikpuri, Abids, Balanagar, Uppal, and Jubilee Hills, which are generally bustling with heavy vehicular traffic, found respite.
The data shows that the air quality persisted in the moderate range from january to May. It started to rise to healthier levels in June. The transition came to a head in July, a month in which the city's air quality made notable advancements. The upward trend is still quite strong as of now in August. Even during the sporadic monsoon breaks, the air quality numbers have remained encouraging.
