Telangana - Nearly 10,000 applicants get Rs 3 lakhs grant under Griha Lakshmi scheme
The recently launched Griha lakshmi program, which aims to help homeless families in the mancherial district realize their dream of owning a home, will soon benefit up to 10,000 people. As part of the housing initiative telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao presented while touring the area in June, authorities approved 9,400 units for the district.
According to the concerned officials, a staggering 50,501 homeless individuals from 16 mandals and seven municipalities in the district applied for the one-time reward of Rs 3 lakh under the Griha lakshmi scheme in the mancherial district. 20,591 applications were submitted for the Bellampally assembly segment, 16,085 for Chennur, and 10,191 for the mancherial assembly district. Bellampalli municipality came in second with 2,839 applications, trailing only Kotapalli mandal's 4,191 applications for first place. The municipality of Kyathanpalli came in last with 536 applications.
According to the rules of the scheme, only applications filed by women will be considered. The applicants must possess a food assistance card. Applications will be refused if the applicant has a family member who works for the government. Applicants must not be homeowners and have at least 120 square yards of land in their spouse's name.
Similar to this, 20% of the units will be set aside for Scheduled Castes, while 50% of the dwellings have been allotted to Backward Communities and minorities. 15% of the apartments have been set aside for the general category, while 5% of the homes will be given to people with disabilities. Up to august 20, according to collector Badavath Santosh, a field study was being conducted to determine beneficiaries. On august 25, beneficiaries will be decided. Under the plan, beneficiaries would be permitted to build two-bedroom homes. He said there would be three phases of the grant's release.
The representatives cautioned the candidates against approaching intermediaries who assert they can sway the selection process by taking bribes. They advised the applicants not to lose heart if they weren't chosen in the preliminary round. The next phases would include coverage for all eligible candidates.
