Telangana: First list of candidates to be released by BRS...
The ruling telangana rashtra samithi (BRS) is expected to release the first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in the next day or two. K. chandrasekhar Rao, President of the BRS and Chief Minister, is said to have decided candidates for almost all of the seats and is waiting for an ideal time to announce them. The initial list is expected to include contenders for 87 seats.
The names for the remaining 32 seats will be announced later. elections for the 119-member assembly are scheduled for November-December. Because the Sravana Masam began on friday (August 18), kcr is expected to release the list of candidates on august 19 or 20. kcr is said to have chosen candidates for 112 of the seats. According to party sources, 95% of the current legislators will be re-elected. The BRS chairman will most likely only make changes in 10-12 constituencies.
Sitting MLAs from the former adilabad district, as well as Medak, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Rangareddy, may be denied tickets. The party is likely to field a Legislative Council member and a Zilla Parishad chairperson. The BRS has 104 seats in the 119-member state Assembly. Following the 2018 elections, 14 MLAs from the congress and the telugu desam party (TDP) joined the ruling party.
Before KCR's visit to Suryapet district on august 20 to open new structures for the district collectorate and Superintendent of police office, the initial list of candidates may be made public. He will also inaugurate the BRS office and speak at a public gathering.
