Telangana Govt directs District Collectors to issue appointment orders to Jr Panchayat Secretaries
In order to assess the performance of junior panchayat Secretaries, district Level Performance Evaluation Committees were established. Only those junior panchayat Secretaries who were chosen and appointed via the direct recruitment announcement and who received 70% or above in the committees' evaluation were to receive appointment orders, the State government instructed authorities to do.
Junior panchayat Secretaries whose performance fell short of 70% will continue to be evaluated for another six months. Their performance would be assessed by the committee after six months, and the instructions said that if their performance was judged to be adequate during the examination, appropriate action would be taken.
The walkout by the employees and workers of the Gramme panchayat was suspended on tuesday, and they will resume work on Wednesday. According to a statement from the employees' Joint Action Committee, the strike was called off following productive discussions with minister of panchayat raj and Rural Development E Dayakar Rao and the government's pledge that their concerns will be addressed.
