What will be gained from the no-confidence motion?
The congress and the opposition were demanding answers from PM Modi in parliament on the violence in Manipur. But the government rejected it outright and proposed a discussion. On this, the opposition presented a motion of no confidence. According to the rules, when the no-confidence motion is presented, the prime minister has to answer it.
Although the government has a huge majority in the house and there is no danger from it. But now the eyes will be on how hard the opposition is able to attack the Modi government and what kind of answer the prime minister and his leaders give. Some things will become very clear from the motion of no confidence
The no-confidence motion is not only a test for the Modi government, it is less of a challenge for the opposition alliance 'India' as well. Since the formation of this alliance, there is a lack of coordination between the leaders of the parties involved in it. No situation is clear yet regarding ncp leader Sharad Pawar. sharad pawar reached to share the stage with PM Modi at the Tilak Samman ceremony even after the congress refused.
On the other hand, the tug of war between the West bengal cm mamata banerjee and the congress continues. It has been reported on august 6 itself that congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary has written a letter to cm Mamta Banerjee asking her not to target the candidates who won from the opposition parties in the Panchayat.
In these circumstances, if the opposition under the leadership of 'India' succeeds in besieging the Modi government, then it will be able to set a narrative in the entire country before the lok sabha elections.
Not only Manipur, there will be many arrows in the quiver of the opposition
