sudha Murthy had revealed on KBC that her decision to pursue engineering in 1968 was not welcomed by her family. parents thought that if this course is mostly done by boys, no one in their community will marry her. sudha said that the principal of the college could not deny her admission as she had scored well at the entrance. But there were 599 boys in the class. So the principal instructed her to wear a saree. Not only that, he was instructed not to go to the college canteen or talk to boys.
