According to authorities, the team will inspect the damage caused by heavy rain and flash floods on the site.

The kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project was not eligible for inclusion under the National Project (NP) status in the lack of investment approval, the central government made plain on Thursday. This was said in the lok sabha by Bishweswar Tudu, the minister of state for Jal shakti, in response to a query posed by N Uttam Kumar Reddy, a congressman. He said that the chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao asked the prime minister Narendra Modi to incorporate the kaleshwaram project under the NP programme in both february 2016 and december 2018.

However, he added, the project is ineligible for inclusion under the NP plan in the absence of investment permission. According to Tudu, a project must first be evaluated by the Central Water Commission (CWC) and approved by the Advisory Committee in order to be included for funding under the NP programme of the Ministry of Jal shakti (MoJS).
