Telangana - Every house in Mukhra (K) to have a solar power plant soon
A 2 kilowatt plant would cost Rs 1,44,000, and a 3 kilowatt plant would cost Rs 2,06,400, according to corporation authorities. Beneficiaries can receive a subsidy of Rs 29,176 if they pick a 2 KW plant, and Rs 43,764 if they choose a 3 KW plant. To help them purchase the plants, loans will be made available. There are 220 homes in Mukhra.
Recently, Mukhra (K) hamlet in Echoda mandal became Telangana's first settlement to have 100 percent insurance coverage. It won the 2023 Gramme Urja Swaraj Vishesh prize at the national level. At the national panchayat Awards Ceremony 2021–2022 held on the grounds of Hyderabad's Prof. Jayashankar telangana State Agriculture University, it took home three prizes.
In order to attain self-reliance in power production, the model village erected two rooftop solar grids with a combined capacity of 6 KV utilising revenue from the sale of vermicompost fertiliser made by the rural civic authority in November. By building toilets in every home, it earned the title of being open defecation-free.
