Prayagraj Police's SIT has filed a charge sheet in the court in the murder case of Mafia Atiq ahmed and his brother Ashraf. Charge sheet was filed in Prayagraj's CJM court. The SIT has filed a charge sheet against the three accused arrested from the spot. Charge sheet has been filed against shooter Lavlesh Tiwari, ArunMaurya and Sunny Singh. The charge sheet has been filed in 56 pages. Apart from this, there is a case diary of about 2000 pages. On april 15, Atiq ahmed and Ashraf were murdered by assailants in police custody at Calvin Hospital in Prayagraj.

Apart from SIT, judicial commission was also formed

Apart from the SIT, the state government had also constituted a judicial commission to investigate the murder of Atiq and Ashraf. Let us tell you that earlier an official informed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to investigate the murder of Atiq ahmed and Ashraf may file its charge sheet soon after the expiry of the stipulated period of 90 days. A senior police officer had told that it would be filed in the court by July 15.

Statements of the neighbors of the attackers were taken – sources

Official sources in the police department said that the SIT conducted a thorough investigation and took statements of neighbors, relatives and friends of the three attackers. On the basis of these statements, the attackers were described as 'aggressive' in the charge sheet. The assailants also allegedly had links with criminal gangs like the Gogi and SundarBhati gangs of western Uttar Pradesh and delhi and the motive behind the sensational killings of Atiq and Ashraf in police custody was to earn fame and money. "After seeing the media coverage of Atiq after the murder of Umesh Pal, the assailants planned to eliminate him and make a big name for themselves," the officials said.
