The opposition parties had alleged irregularities during the allotment in the case, following which the probe into the matter was handed over to the CBI. The cbi had registered in the FIR that former mp Vijay Darda had concealed facts in his letter. This work was done by JLD to allocate Fatehpur east Coal Block to Yavatmal Group. According to the cbi, the allocation of four coal blocks to Yavatmal Group companies between 1995-2005 was concealed. This led to irregularities in coal block allocation.
The cbi, which had alleged a scam in its FIR, had denied any irregularities in the closure report. However, the closure report was rejected by the court on november 20, 2014, and directed further investigation. After this, the Special cbi court granted bail to all the accused on august 20, 2015. Later on in the filing of the CBI's charge sheet, the court directed everyone to appear as accused.
