The Meteorological Department (IMD) issued this alert on sunday morning after reports of water level crossing the danger mark in rivers and streams from various areas.

He said that in some areas of Kathua, Samba, Ramban, Doda and Udhampur districts, it rained overnight on Saturday. A spokesman of the Meteorological Department said, 'More rain is expected during the next 12 hours at some places in Kathua, Samba, Ramban, Doda and Udhampur districts. The situation is expected to improve after July 10.

A police official said that almost all the rivers including Chenab, Ravi, Tawi and Neeru are in spate at many places and the water level in them has crossed the danger mark. He said that there is no news of any damage due to flood anywhere
