Telangana CM KCR unveils Bharat Jagruti book on Telangana history

Telangana is a source of immense pride for the State and its citizens and bears witness to a history spanning more than 20 billion years, according to chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. As part of the 21-day decennial celebrations commemorating the founding of the State, he released a book on telangana history published in five volumes by Bharat Jagruti.

He praised the efforts made by historians to piece together the State's history and said telangana has a rich heritage with evidence of its history dating back millions of years. He noted that knowledge of the historical social structures and governmental structures will aid in preparing for the future. Over the past six years, the history division of Bharat Jagruti has travelled to and examined numerous historical sites around Telangana.

There has been an endeavour to research Telangana's illustrious past under the direction of historian and author Sriramoju Haragopal. Under the direction of editors Mamidi Harikrishna and Vemuganti Muralikrishna, the results of the fieldwork and the data acquired were compiled into a book. The crew analysed a variety of historical artefacts including fossils, structures, inscriptions, coins, and texts that were found in the specific locations, the chief minister was informed. He praised the members of the Jagruti history Wing staff and MLC K Kavitha, the organization's president.
