Telangana - Kaleshwaram recognised as an enduring symbol of engineering progress by ASCE
Speaking at the occasion afterward, minister Rama Rao described Telangana's path as one of resiliency and change, of ground-breaking engineering accomplishments, and the odyssey of one man's purpose-driven leadership. He claimed that Mission Bhagiratha and the kaleshwaram lift irrigation project were not only finished in record time but also with the highest efficiency and financial effectiveness.

"K Chandrashekhar Rao had a clear goal of reforming telangana and bettering the lives of its people when he spearheaded the telangana Statehood movement and became the first elected chief minister of the State. He turned his idea into reality via strategic preparation, creative thought, and precise execution. The fact that the kaleshwaram project was finished quickly is evidence of his extraordinary leadership and his capacity to bring lofty goals into reality, according to Rama Rao.
With an expenditure of US$11 billion, the kaleshwaram project, which raises river water from 90 metres to 618 metres above sea level, was finished in a record-breaking four years.
