Telangana - Elected representatives thank CM KCR for repeal of GO 111
Other members of the public, including MLAs from Rajendranagar and Chevella, Prakash Goud and Kale Yadaiah, were also present. On Thursday, the State Cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, announced that GO No. 111, which was issued in 1996 to prevent excessive industrialization, heavy construction, and pollution of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, would be repealed.
As the residents of the 84 villages had long demanded, the State administration decided to repeal GO No. 111. They opposed the GO because it prevented any local growth and left them without it. They would no longer be subject to any limitations on how they may utilise their land. Now, the city could obtain enough drinking water from important rivers like the Godavari, Krishna, and Manjeera.
