Telangana - Nizamabad Agriculture Dept gears up for Vanakalam season

The southwest monsoon is anticipated to arrive across the State between june 7 and 15, hence the district Agriculture Department is preparing for the Vanakalam (Kharif) season. To secure sufficient supplies of seeds and fertilizers for the Vanakalam season, the authorities are making the required preparations. According to the government, this crop season would see the cultivation of 5.37 lakh acres of land.
The district's estimated paddy cultivation area is 4.17 lakh acres, while maize and turmeric will be grown on 32,185 and 23,722 acres, respectively. In addition, 58,715 acres will be used to grow soybeans. The telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA) and the police department have formed Task Force teams to address the problem of fake seeds in the district, according to nizamabad district Agriculture Officer (DAO) R tirumala Prasad.
To examine the quality of the seeds, the Task Force teams will undertake raids on seed distributors and storage facilities. Additionally, they will instruct farmers on the value of employing high-quality fertilizers and seeds. In collaboration with representatives from related departments, agriculture extension officers (AEOs) will conduct two educational sessions for farmers each week at the district's 106 Rythu Vedikas on a variety of agricultural and related topics.
