Cyber Security HACKATHON Finals - 105 Hackers Participate in Chennai

The Cyber Security Hackathon finals started in chennai on behalf of VIT, chennai Metropolitan Police. 105 teams have participated in this.
Cyber Security Hackathon Finals organized by VIT university chennai Campus and chennai Metropolitan police Department started yesterday. VIT university Chancellor G. Viswanathan, chennai Central Crime Branch Additional Commissioner of police Maheshwari, Deputy Commissioners Nagajothi, meena and stalin inaugurated the competitions.
When G. Viswanathan spoke, "With the growing technology in the world, cyber crimes are also increasing. Keeping this in mind, the youth of india should try to prevent cyber crimes from taking place by properly using technological development. In 2019, 800 crore cyber crimes were committed globally. An estimated US$260 million will be spent on preventing cybercrime. He said that tamil Nadu should become a pioneer state by taking defensive measures to prevent such crimes from happening.
Additional Commissioner Maheshwari said, “Cyber crimes are increasing day by day. As various cyber crimes are taking place due to the advancement of technology, various challenges have to be data-faced in preventing them.
Last year, 60,092 complaints were received across tamil Nadu including 10,835 in chennai regarding cyber crimes. chennai has received 2,931 complaints this year. We are constantly creating awareness among the public to protect themselves from cyber crimes,” he said.
VIT chennai Campus Additional Registrar PK Manokaran, Computer Science Dean R. Kannan, Professors Vallidevi, Subbulakshmi and others participated in the opening ceremony.
105 teams are participating in the Cyber Security Hackathon. The closing ceremony of the competition will be held today (May 20) evening. chennai Municipal police Commissioner shankar Jiwal will give away the prizes to the winning teams. First prize Rs.50 thousand, 2nd prize Rs.30 thousand, 3rd prize Rs.20 thousand.
