National Human Rights Commission Issued Notice to Balveer Singh

Balveer Singh was in charge of Assistant Superintendent of police in Amba Samudram, tirunelveli District. There was an allegation that he was punishing those who were being taken for investigation by pulling out their teeth. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the DGP to submit a report on the matter within 4 weeks. In this case, a notice has been sent again.

In the petition filed by an NGO from Amba Samudra, "Subhash was taken to the police station for questioning on the 23rd of last month. There, ASP Balveer Singh pulled out his tooth with a stick. And he made him clean up the blood spilled there. Apart from this, he also wrote to Subhash that his tooth was broken due to falling from the vehicle. If this allegation is true then the victim has been subjected to serious human rights violations. tamilnadu DGP should submit a report in this regard within 4 weeks. It says so.

He is accused of breaking the teeth and crushing the testicles of some detained suspects in connection with a violent altercation on march 10 between two groups in the caste-sensitive Ambasamudram town of tirunelveli district in southern tamil Nadu, a development that has civil rights activists in convulsions. Nine people, including two minors, were detained by the police unit he oversaw and accused of trying to murder.
