There was an earthquake in indonesia today. It has been reported that it was recorded on the Richter scale of 6.4. An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred today in the Tanimbar Islands in the Maluku province of Indonesia. An earthquake hit Tanimbar Islands in Indonesia's Maluku province today (Thursday).
 It is reported to have been measured at 6.4 on the Richter scale. Also, the country's Geophysical Agency said there was no possibility of a tsunami. The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 97 km (60.27 miles). It was located around 543 km southeast of Ambon which is the capital of Maluku.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage from the quake. Apart from that, more information about the earthquake is yet to be officially reported. indonesia is a seismic zone known as the "Pacific Ring of Fire," where different plates in the Earth's crust meet and produce frequent earthquakes, researchers say.
