Farmers' demands: congress to stage protest on Dec 9...

 

The winter session of the parliament is starting from today. To increase the difficulties of the government during this session, once again an organization associated with the farmers has announced a demonstration at Jantar Mantar. All india Kisan congress has said that they will protest in the capital New delhi on 9th December. The reason for this demonstration from the All india Kisan congress has been told as non-fulfilment of the old demands of the farmers. This organization of farmers said that the promise of MSP made by the government to the farmers has not been fulfilled till now.


While announcing the protest to be held on december 9, Chairman of All india Kisan congress and mla Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that he has written a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi demanding early resolution of the long pending issues of the farmers. Khaira alleged that no concrete steps have been taken by the Modi government to fulfill the promises made at the time of withdrawal of the three anti-farmer laws.

All india Kisan congress Chairman Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that farmers are demanding legal guarantee of MSP for all crops. MSP should be guaranteed on the basis of C2+50% formula based on the recommendation of the swaminathan Commission report. The committee formed by the government for this purpose should be dismissed and a new committee should be constituted with proper representation of farmers and farmer organizations.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira further said that the rate of interest on the loans of farmers should be halved and the loan of agricultural laborers should be waived off completely. Apart from this, he demanded that the electricity Amendment Bill 2022 should be withdrawn.
