A hearing was held today in the supreme court on a petition filed by environmentalist professor K Purushottam Reddy, who said that while the number of seats should be increased in the two telugu states under the Partition Act, the Center has not paid any attention to it for the past eight and a half years, and in the same context of the partition of kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">jammu and kashmir in 2019, a delimitation committee was set up to increase the seats there.

The supreme court has issued notices to the Center on this occasion. These notices were issued directing the Center to reply within four weeks on this matter. Meanwhile, the supreme court accepted this petition for hearing in the month of September. A two-judge bench comprising Justices KM Joseph and Justice Hrishikesh Roy is hearing the case. According to Section 26 of the ap Reorganization Act, the 175 seats in ap will be increased to 225 and the 119 seats in telangana will be increased to 153. But the Centre's argument is different. The Center has been saying that there is a ceiling to reorganize the constituencies based on the census after 2026. If more seats are to be increased, it is also said that constitutional amendment should be done.

However, the telugu states have been arguing that the constitution was approved only when ap was divided into two and there was no need to increase the seats. Meanwhile, the Central Law Department has given a notification for the reorganization of constituencies including kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">jammu and kashmir and the northeastern states of Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland. Why this petition was filed in telugu states when there are no problems for it.

Not only this, advocate Rao Ranjith argued on behalf of the petitioner that this kind of discrimination is a violation of Articles 14, 19 and 21 of the Constitution. It is said that the delay is nothing other than the non-reorganization of the constituencies till now. With this, the supreme court asked the Center to give an answer on this matter. And what the Center will do now is being discussed. In fact, in telangana, bjp has no candidates in the existing 119 seats. If it is made to 153, it will not only benefit bjp but also the bjp is fighting for its existence in AP. It is said that the move of the ruling bjp at the center is to postpone this delimitation for more years.

But this case has now come before the supreme Court. Moreover, the Center has issued a notification for the reorganization of constituencies in the North Eastern states including Jammu and Kashmir. A delimitation committee has been formed in Kashmir. With that, what the Center can say now and escape from this is coming to the discussion. Since the center is S, the increase in seats in both states will happen before the assembly elections this time. But it is said that the Center cannot say no and many objections will be data-faced by the court. All in all, it is being discussed that the Center should increase the number of seats.
