On Monday, Y.S. sharmila, the leader of the ysr telangana party (YSRTP), said that the congress had betrayed her father, the late (undivided) andhra pradesh Chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. In a speech to the public on the 164th day of her Praja prasthanam padayatra, sharmila asserted that ysr had twice led the congress to victory, in 2004 and 2009, and that after 30 years of his loyalty to the party, the congress had betrayed ysr by backstabbing him and adding his name to a FIR even after his death.
On Monday, sharmila reached the 2,300-kilometer mark in her padyatra. Since the creation of telangana, this is the farthest distance travelled by a political leader from this area. In sangareddy, sharmila lambasted the trs administration and local congress mla jagga reddy over the lack of development there, attacking the local mla for his failure to improve the constituency and the KCR-led trs government for ignoring the area. According to sharmila, telangana is underdeveloped and the father-son team of kcr and ktr are focused on generating income for themselves while the state is being forced into a debt trap.
She erected a statue of her late father in Arutla village, which is part of the Kandi mandal of the sangareddy Assembly district, to commemorate the completion of the 2,300 kilometres. After mla jagga reddy claimed that she was acting on orders from the BJP, she retaliated by claiming that jagga reddy was a clandestine ktr ally in the congress and an unreliable politician. The YSRCP leader asserted that jagga reddy lacks the authority to criticise ysr, who was well-known for the political stance he always adopted. She claimed that her father has always supported the local population and has never switched political allegiances.
