The chess Olympiad is being held at Mamallapuram, Chennai. prime minister Modi inaugurated this historic Chess Olympiad today. The opening ceremony for this will be held today at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Players from 187 countries around the world are participating in this series of Chess Olympiads. About 2,000 players will participate in the Chess Olympiad. The tamil Nadu government has arranged all the facilities for the participation of foreign players along with indian players.
In particular, all types of food are arranged to serve the foreign players with that country's food. 77 menu cards have been prepared for this purpose. More than 3500 dishes are featured including snacks and sauces. Apart from this, there are 700 types of staple foods.
Top chefs have been invited to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and high-quality teas for the players. These food arrangements were prepared by India's leading chef G.S. Talwar from Chennai. Talwar said that it took a week to prepare the list of menus, soups, juices, starters, main dishes and snacks, cold platters and salads to be served to the players.
Chess Olympiads are organized in such a way that each meal consists of a different meal so that the meals that the players eat on one day are not the same on the following day. The menu also features specialty wines and beers. This food category includes our very own Idli from Asian to european cuisines. It is believed to be not only a chess Olympiad but also a grand food festival.
