Kallakurichi Violence:CM stalin appeals to maintain peace...


The situation in Kallakurichi is deplorable. chief minister M.K.Stalin has requested that the culprits in the Kallakurichi student death case will be punished for sure and the public should have faith in the government's actions and maintain peace.


It is said that a 12th-class student in a private school near Kallakurichi committed suicide by jumping down from the dormitory floor of the school on the night of July 13. Srimathi's parents have raised few questions regarding the death due to various doubts about the death of the student. They are continuously protesting for justice for the death of the student.


The protest which continued today for the 4th day suddenly turned violent. Also, there was tension as protesters set fire to more than 5 school buses there.

The police tried to control the protesters. Then the protesters attacked the police. They did not disperse even after the police batoned them. The police then fired in the air. However, they continue to engage in violence. A few policemen were injured in the attack by the rioters. Additional police have been deployed as the situation continues to be abnormal.


In this situation, chief minister M.K.Stalin has insisted on maintaining peace in this matter. In this regard, M. K. stalin published a post on his social media page saying that the situation in Kallakurichi is sad. I have instructed the home Secretary and the director General of police to go to Kallakurichi and to maintain peace. I request the public to maintain peace by keeping faith in the government's actions," he said.
