Four main states compete with Andhra..!?
With the revenue of the states falling sharply since the advent of GST, strenuous efforts are being made to generate additional revenue and improve the economy of the state, especially among the leading economic states of the country, Maharashtra,
tamil Nadu,
karnataka,
andhra pradesh, and Telangana. Currently, three states are competing for such a company's project.
Beyond that, Taiwanese company Foxconn plans to set up a
contract electric
car manufacturing plant in India.
It is looking for space in the right states to implement these three important projects and set up factories.
pooja Kulkarni, head of Guidance Tamilnadu, the nodal agency on behalf of the
tamil Nadu government, met IAS in
delhi with Foxconn, which already has the largest factory in
tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, market experts say that Foxconn will choose to do all three production projects in a single state, while reports are circulating that each project will be set up in each state.
On behalf of
tamil Nadu,
pooja Kulkarni met Foxconn President Young Liu in
delhi as well as
karnataka Industry
minister Murugesh Nirani. Currently, five states -
tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra,
karnataka, and
andhra pradesh - are competing to attract Foxconn's plant.
