TN Agricultural Budget: Tomato Price Control..!
The Agriculture Budget states that measures will be taken to encourage tomato cultivation even during the off-season to adjust the price of tomatoes. Agriculture minister MRK Panneerselvam presented the Agriculture Budget today. Earlier he visited the artist memorial at chennai Marina beach and paid tributes.

The department carries out the task of protecting the welfare of the farmers through another feather called horticulture. In tamil Nadu, it has been working tirelessly to increase the area under irrigated cultivation by setting up drip irrigation by providing 100 percent subsidy to small and marginal farmers and 75 percent subsidy to other farmers. In the year 2022-23, the project will continue to be implemented on two lakh 50 thousand acres, 960 crore rupees Union, and state funds. Through the Department of Horticulture in all the districts of tamil Nadu, 50-hectare clusters will be established at the rate of two per district and the tamil Nadu Organic Agriculture Movement will be implemented.The project will be accompanied by a number of activities such as providing training on organic farming through specialized training to farmers in the collection, providing information on soils, providing advice and inputs on bio-fertilizers, setting up laboratories for chemical testing of products, registration in the field of organic certification, etc. Will be implemented in the fund. In addition, natural manure sheds, vermicomposts, etc. will be set up in collaboration with the Rural Development Department. All activities from pre-registration to planting of quality mango, guava, sapodilla, novel, jackfruit, locust, pomegranate, distribution of inputs, registration of quality feedback are done online.
Precision farming will be implemented to increase the productivity of horticultural crops using new technologies. In this way, inputs, labor costs are reduced and higher yields and export quality products are available. The project will provide Rs. 5 crores in state funds to farmers covering an area of 8,300 acres by providing plants, seeds, and inputs and encouraging them to cultivate with high technology. In order to promote intercropping, small/marginal farmers cultivating coconut, mango, guava, and banana will be provided with an "intercropping package". The project will be implemented on an area of 38 thousand acres at a cost of 27 crores 51 lakh rupees.Rs 25 crores and 15 lakh will be provided for the cultivation of colorful wedges, tomatoes, cucumbers, safflowers, and vegetables through high technologies such as green huts, shady net huts, and landscaping.
