'Operation Ganga' to evacuate indian students???


Amid the Russia-Ukraine war crisis, the government of india has started 'Operation Ganga' for indian citizens in Ukraine. Under this campaign, flights are continuously reaching india carrying indian students. Foreign Secretary Harsh v Shringla has said that the government will bear the full cost of the evacuation process from Ukraine.


Due to the closure of Ukrainian airspace, India's flights are operating from Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and Budapest, the capital of Hungary. india is facilitating the evacuation of stranded indians from ukraine through Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.


Shringla said that the indian Embassy in Kyiv and the Ministry of External Affairs had issued several instructions before the situation in ukraine worsened. 4000 of our citizens had already left before the conflict as per this advice. 


Safe return of 469 so far

A total of 469 indian citizens have been evacuated from war-torn ukraine so far. Out of which 200 have reached delhi on sunday morning and 219 have reached mumbai on saturday evening. air India's third flight with about 240 indians has left for delhi from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Notably, the fourth flight carrying 198 indians from Bucharest, the capital of Romania, left for india on Sunday. prime minister Narendra Modi today said that the central government is bringing thousands of indians back home by running Operation Ganga.
