Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is expected to marry on
thursday in
delhi, according to sources close to the party. The bride-to-identity is not been revealed. As Tejashwi Yadav embarks on a new chapter in his life, we remember when the youthful RJD
leader was inundated with
marriage proposals from
women all over the country. Tejashwi Yadav received 44,000
marriage proposals on a
whatsapp helpline in 2016. Tejashwi Yadav was the
deputy chief minister of
bihar at the time.
The hotline was set up to receive complaints about the state of the roads, but it was instead inundated with
marriage offers. Only 3,000 of the 47,000 messages received on the hotline, according to a
government official, were grievances and requests for road repairs. "Of the 47,000 messages received on his
phone, 44,000 were personal proposals to marry Yadav. Only 3,000 of them were related to road improvements, according to a
government official.
"The young females misread Tejashwi's
phone number and sent private messages," the official explained.
women from all around the country received
marriage proposals to the cricketer-turned-politician, including their full names, academic credentials, and family history. Former
bihar chief ministers Lalu
prasad and Rabri Devi have a younger son, Tejashwi Yadav. In the
manmohan singh government, Lalu
prasad was also the railway minister. The Yadav family has been tight-lipped regarding the engagement ceremony and the future bride. Tejashwi Yadav's family has already arrived in
delhi for his engagement.
