Semester examinations would be held solely directly in all types of colleges in tamil Nadu, according to the Department of Higher Education. The corona pandemic forced the closure of schools and universities in march of last year. Colleges reopened after the virus receded, but the second wave forced them to close again. The colleges began classes in september of last year. Due to the northeast monsoon and the depression, heavy rains are currently falling across tamil Nadu. As a result, classes are held online.

Meanwhile, in the madurai Goripalayam area, American college students organised a demonstration yesterday in front of the madurai Collector's Office, demanding that college classes not be held directly and semester exams be held online. In light of this, the Department of Higher education in tamil Nadu has announced that semester examinations will be held exclusively in all types of colleges in the state. The Registrars of all Universities under the Department of Higher education, as well as the director of Technical education and the director of college education, have received a circular from Higher education Secretary Karthikeyan.

"With the decreasing number of corona patients in tamil Nadu, all forms of semester examinations shall be conducted directly in all higher education institutions operating under the Department of Higher education," the document stated. All of these tests must be completed in accordance with Corona recommendations. Engineering, arts and sciences, polytechnic colleges, and university departments are all affected by the regulation.
