This announcement has brought joy to those who have gone and are going to celebrate the diwali festival in their hometowns. As it is a 4-day public holiday from tomorrow and all the government offices are busy this week as the government officials are in the mood to celebrate today.

In the meantime, this is the first time that a public holiday has been declared for 4 consecutive days as one joins the diwali festival. The move by chief minister MK stalin to make the people celebrate diwali with joy has been lauded by various quarters.

As this 4-day consecutive holiday announced by the government is not applicable to private companies, those who can work in those companies are looking forward to such an announcement by the government of tamil Nadu. It is noteworthy that millions of people have travelled from chennai to their hometowns to celebrate Diwali.

The government of tamil Nadu has declared saturday, november 20 as a working day to make up for the workday as Friday, november 5 is a public holiday. As november 6 is a saturday, the tamil Nadu government has not announced another date in return.

Holiday notice of the government of tamil Nadu is applicable only to the offices under the control of the State Administration.
