Military interference in Pakistan's administration is an open secret. This was once again confirmed in the recent appointment of the ISI chief of the Pakistani spy agency.

The son of a retired Major General has been jailed for writing a letter demanding the resignation of pakistan army Chief General Khamr Javed Bajwa. A Pakistani military court convicted him and sentenced him to five years in prison.

A treason case has been registered and convicted for criticizing Pak army Chief Bajwa for extending his tenure.

Hassan Askari, son of retired Major General Zafar Mehdi Aksari, has been sentenced by a military court to life in prison. Hasan was defended by an official appointed by a Pakistani military court at a trial in July this year.

Father Zafar complained that he was having trouble meeting his son in the high-security jail in Sahiwal. Earlier in January, the Islamabad High court, which heard the treason case, directed that the entire trial be recorded on camera.

Can a military court prosecute a citizen during a trial? The question arose.

However, the court later clarified that the verdict should be given by the military authorities.

Recently, the decision taken regarding the appointment of the Director-General of pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was controversial.

Meanwhile, the term of the pakistan army Chief will end in 2019. prime minister imran khan has extended it for another three years.

Imran Khan initially wanted to extend it for a year, but Bajwa brought it under pressure and extended it to three years.

Karachi Corps commander Lieutenant General Nadeem ahmed Anjum was recently appointed as the ISI Chief, replacing Lieutenant General Fayaz Hamid as the Peshawar Corps Commander.

The controversy erupted when Bajwa, Pakistan's army chief, abruptly announced the decision. prime minister imran khan refused to sign the appointments.
