The assembly elections for 234 Constituencies in tamil Nadu took place on april 6th. Despite the second wave of Corona, the voting took place with several safety measures. For the first time, in the history of voting in tamil Nadu, several frontline health workers were deployed at polling booths to sanitize everyone who came forward to vote.
Despite various parties have bloomed in this election, the main battle is expected between MK Stalin's DMK and Edappadi's ADMK. Kamal Haasan's MNM, Seeman's NTK. TTV Dhinakaran's AMMK is expected to split the votes of these parties. The counting today takes place in 75 booths and in each booth, 5 constituency votes will be counted. There will be 14 tables in each booth and a supervising officer and 14 booth agents for each table. In the case of bigger constituencies, the booth will have 28 tables.
There will be 43 rounds of counting. Initially, the postal votes will be counted and the first round of results will be declared around 9 am. The final results will be known by today late afternoon around 2 or 3 pm itself. However, due to the Corona scare, there might be a slight delay and the final results might be declared even by night 9 pm.
