Temporary Relief for P Chidambaram as he can't be arrested until Sep 5

Recently, we reported that P chidambaram's CBI custody has been extended for four more days, a delhi court ruled the verdict. The order came after the CBI sought a five—day extension. The CBI told the court that he was not cooperative during the interrogation and they need a few days for the investigation. chidambaram data-faced a setback and the custody has been extended.



The promoter of INX Media, Indrani Mukerjea and Peter Mukerjea’s statements to the Enforcement Directorate played a crucial part on the prosecution of chidambaram INX Media money laundering case. Indrani also met chidambaram after INX Media application was submitted to FIPB along with her husband Peter and senior company executive at his office in North Block, delhi. chidambaram was handed a copy of the application by peter, filed by the ED court the charge sheet and attached order had Indrani’s statement.


Now, chidambaram has got temporary relief as the Supreme Court said it will order on September 5th the verdict on his plea against arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media Money laundering case. The apex court bench of justices R Banumathi and A S Bopanna extended till that day the interim protection given to chidambaram against arrest by ED and asked the investigating agency to produce by then the material meant for the court's perusal.
