Reddy’s losing dominance in AP politics?
Reddy community, the land owning and one of the richest communities not just in AP but even in other parts of South India are slowly losing their dominance in AP politics. Till the era of YRS, they were solidly backing Congress party but after his demise their loyalties are now split between Congress and YSRCP.
Though there are reports that they are backing Jagan fully, still there is a section of this community who are still with Congress due to their hostility with some of YSRCP leaders. Though TDP is predominately filled with BC’s and Kammas, there are data-sizeable Reddy’s for the party especially in Telangana region.
They are also increasingly seen in BJP though few of them in TRS may move to T-JAC in case it launches a political party of its own due to velama domination. With Kapus slowly gaining upper hand in Congress, for the first time in the history Reddy’s will spread across all the leading parties but will no longer enjoy the power.
