Indian techie thrown behind bars at New York

A 33 year old Indian techie has been thrown behind jail for two years and he was also ordered to pay a fine of $300,000 for sending a malware to his former employer's servers. Now as a result this has caused huge losses for the company.


The Indian who goes by the name Nikhil Nilesh Shah was arrested in this issue. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison by US district judge Louise Flanagan in North Carolina and ordered to pay $325,463 in restitution.


As per agreement, from 20007-2012, Nikhil worked as an information technology manager at a company in North Carolina that developed platforms for the creation of mobile applications. He left the company in 2012 as he got a better opportunity in another technology firm.


And that year he sent malicious computer codes to his former company's computer servers in Durham and Raleigh, North Carolina, deleting much of its intellectual property. This caused more financial losses for the company.
